Molecular Technologist - Full Time

 

Position Summary

The Molecular Technologist role will be responsible for the preparation of material, including RNA and DNA extraction, from blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples for molecular analysis.  The role requires performance of testing by PCR, qPCR, Pyro and Sanger Sequencing, as well as Next Generation library preparation and sequencing.  It includes all technical work required to provide our team of hematopathologists with appropriate information to render a result or diagnosis.

Duty Summary

  • Receive, label, and prepare samples, ensuring that histotechnologists have appropriate material from FFPE for cutting and tissue marking by hematopathologists
  • Perform manual and/or automated DNA or RNA extraction
  • Run testing on platforms as described above
  • Perform daily, weekly and quarterly maintenance on all molecular equipment
  • Assist in validating new assays and creating appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for those assays

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • American Society of Clinical Pathologist (ASCP) Molecular Genetic Technologist (MGT) Certification
  • High level of organizational skills including workspace and time management, as well as ability to multi-task
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions and specimen workflow management (XIFIN preferred)

 

Laboratory Technologist - Full Time

Histology/Immunohistochemistry Lab

 

Position Summary

The Laboratory Technologist role for Histology/Immunohistochemistry (IHC) will be responsible for the preparation of material for immunohistochemical staining and processing. It includes all technical work required to provide our team of pathologists appropriate information to render a diagnosis. The position also includes responsibility for breast image analysis for ER, PR, and HER2.

Duty Summary

  • Preparation of material (FFPE tissue and slides) for IHC staining and subsequent instrument maintenance
  • Preparation of slides for IHC breast marker staining and image analysis/scanning
  • Assistance in bone marrow component preparation and special staining
  • QC documentation and inventory control for IHC

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree preferred with certification as required
  • Demonstrated laboratory/medical service experience in IHC and histology
  • High level of organizational skills including workspace and time management, as well as ability to multi-task
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information System (LIS) functions and specimen workflow management (XIFIN preferred)

Position Summary

Develop and manage sales relationships with new clients in the areas of oncology and pathology, while maintaining and growing sales to existing Applied Diagnostics accounts. The position requires:

  • Ability to identify and successfully engage sales influencers and decision makers in adopting Applied Diagnostics’ commercial services
  • Knowledge of the Applied Diagnostics’ test menu and subsequent clinical utility, specimen requirements, and turnaround times
  • Basic understanding of medical billing and reimbursement
  • Time and territory management through use of company CRM

Qualifications and Requirements

  • New account development experience required, sales experience in oncology preferred
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • High level of organizational skills in time and project management
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience
  • Ability to travel (~80%) on a monthly basis
